FAQ
- What is a PDB file? This is a database file for the Palm handheld
organizer. You will need a database program of some kind to read it; I
use JFile Pro. You can
get a demo version of JFile Pro for free; it is fully functional except
that it can have only one database.
- How did you create this file? I got the latest program from
the Programming staff, and used awk and a bunch of other arcane
UNIX tools to mangle the data into a format that JFile would accept.
- How do I download this file to my Palm? Save the westercon.pdb
file (above) to a folder on your desktop computer. Start the Palm
Install Tool (on my Windows 2000 machine, it's Start / Programs / Palm
Desktop / Install Tool). Press Add, select the westercon.pdb file, press
Done. Synchronize your Palm.
If you have any other questions, or any problems using the file -- sorry
Charlie, you're on your own. This file is provided to you for free and
is explicitly without support of any kind. Hope you find it useful,
though!
